The CHOICES program (Connecticut’s programs for Health insurance, Outreach, Information and Eligibility) is a state health insurance assistance program that provides free, unbiased, confidential and quality information, counseling and assistance to older adults, persons with disabilities, and their care givers. If you have questions about any of the following (and more!),
CHOICES volunteers can help:
- Medicare
- Medigap
- Medicare Advantage plans
- Medicaid
- Medicare Savings Program
- State & federal assistance programs
- Long-term care insurance
- Durable medical equipment
- Homecare
- Transportation
- Housing
- Respite & caregiver resources
Assistance is available whether you are turning 65 and learning about your options, you want to compare plans to find one that is right for you, or you want to understand available benefits and assistance.

The CHOICES program is funded in part by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services). CHOICES works in cooperation with the CT Department of Social Services, Elderly Services Division and the Center for Medicare Advocacy and is administered by the five Area Agencies on Aging in Connecticut.
