Continuing Care Retirement Communities
Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) or Life-Care Communities provide residents with living accommodations and a wide variety of services, including health and long-term care services, through contractual agreements. Seniors can move between Independent Living, Assisted Living and Nursing Home Care based on changing needs at each point in time.
These communities allow seniors to “age in place,” with flexible accommodations that are designed to meet their health and housing needs as they change over time. It is different than other senior homes in that residents entering CCRCs sign a contract that provides for housing, services and nursing care.
CCRC’s are not licensed in Connecticut, but they must adhere to certain statutory requirements. Various components of their health care packages are licensed by the State of Connecticut. Residents must be independent upon admission and pay a substantial lump-sum entrance fee and monthly fees in exchange for lifetime housing and health-related services. The Watermark at Thirty-Thirty Park 3030 Park Avenue Bridgeport, CT 06604 (203) 374-5611 Edgehill Senior Living Community 122 Palmer’s Hill Road Stamford, CT 06902 (203) 323-2323 Meadow Ridge 100 Redding Road Redding, CT 06896 (203) 544-7777 or Toll Free 877-544-8100 Pomperaug Woods 80 Heritage Road Southbury, CT 06488 (203) 262-6555 or Toll Free 866-817-8925
