FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Through funding received from Title III of the federal Older Americans Act and matching State of Connecticut funds, the Southwestern CT Agency on Aging (SWCAA) awards grants and contracts to community agencies through an annual Request for Proposals process.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are usually issued in late February for all services except nutrition. On occasion, RFPs for special projects may be offered at other times. RFPs are posted on this website and mailed to those on the SWCAA RFP mailing list.
  • A Letter of Intent must be returned to request an application package
  • A technical assistance session is scheduled in early March
  • An application due date is scheduled in late April
  • Applications are reviewed by SWCAA Allocations Committees during May and June
  • Awards are made and announced in late June
  • Grant awards for most funded projects run October 1 through September 30

NUTRITION APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Requests for Proposals for congregate and home-delivered meals and nutrition education are issued every three years utilizing the Elderly Nutrition Program Procurement Process.
  • Nutrition Requests for Proposals and background materials are posted at www.ctagenciesonaging.org.
  • A request for proposals for FY 2010 through FY 2012 was issued in October 2008. The likely date for the next issuance of a nutrition request for proposals is the fall of 2011.
