Medicare Supplemental Plans (Medigap)

A Medigap policy is a health insurance policy sold by private insurance companies to fill gaps in Original Medicare plan coverage. Medigap helps pay when Original Medicare doesn't cover the full cost of services.  Both Medicare A and B have gaps in coverage. Medigap insurance is a secondary payor to Original Medicare.  You can go to any doctor or medical provider that accepts Medicare.

Medigap policies must follow federal and state laws. The front of the Medigap policy must clearly identify it as "Medicare Supplement Insurance".
